RENNER PTA 2020 REGISTRATION
Go to www.RennerPTA.org starting on July 15th to order the following:
- School supplies
- Spirit wear
- PTA membership
- Yard signs/car decals
- Volunteer Interest Form

Check out the Plano PISD website for information about planning for the opening of the 2020-2021 school year on August 12. Guidance from the State of Texas and the Texas Education Agency (TEA) is pivotal in that planning. Planning for the 2020-21 school year was discussed at the Plano ISD Board of Trustees meeting on June 23, 2020.
Plano ISD is excited to announce the implementation of a new volunteer management system for the 2020-2021 school year. In order to facilitate a smooth transition, all 2019-2020 volunteer records will remain active until August 31, 2020, instead of being deactivated on June 30, per standard practice.
Volunteers will need to reapply in the new system prior to August 31 when their profile will be deactivated in the old system. The new system will be available for use in early August, and can be accessed at www.pisd.edu/volunteer. New volunteers wanting to apply will be able to do so at that time as well.

PTAs are intended to be a place of welcome. We value our differences as we work to realize our mission to ensure all kids reach their full potential. Plano ISD Council of PTAs continues to strive toward intentional inclusion because racism, discrimination, and exclusion have no place in our schools or our community at large.
Today, we see the need for Plano ISD Council of PTAs to support our students and families who are dealing with a degree of hate that many of us in PTA leadership have never experienced. We will walk hand-in-hand with our community to work together to establish ways for Plano ISD Council of PTAs to be the REAL thing - building and strengthening relationships between all of our community; educating us all on the issues that present themselves to minorities; advocating for those who feel unseen and unheard; legislating for change; and using the power of our voice at the polls.
Fear of not being able to reach your full potential because of the color of your skin is not acceptable.

Last day to register to vote: Monday, June 15, 2020 (mailed applications must be postmarked June 15, 2020)
Last day to apply for ballot-by-mail: Thursday, July 2, 2020 (received not postmarked)
Early Voting period: Monday, June 29, 2020 - Friday, July 10, 2020
The elementary and middle school day will be extended by five minutes

Membership costs only $25 for a 2-adult membership, or $20 for a single adult membership for the entire school year.
What does PTA really do, and what does my money pay for? Here are some examples:
- Fun social events for the kids throughout the year,
- Fundraisers like the Color Run, the Book Fair, and Packet Pick-Up day (saving you money on school supplies bought in bulk),
- PE apparel, music t-shirts, and other spirit wear,
- Teacher grants for improvements to the school
- Hosting teacher appreciation lunches that aren’t paid for by your tax dollars,
- Guest speakers and experts brought into the school to discuss current topics of interest such as technology, and internet safety for the kids and parents.
