A Note from our PTA President...
I hope everyone has had a wonderful start to the year! We had a great turnout for our Welcome Coffee and first General PTA meeting of the year. I am excited to be a part of this great group of volunteers as we serve Renner students, staff and parents this upcoming school year. We have some easy ways for you to make money for Renner Middle School! If you link your grocery store rewards program to Renner Middle School, a percentage of all purchases are donated back to our school. It's an easy way to make a huge difference to our school!
Kroger: Kroger's Community Rewards program links your Kroger Plus card to Renner Middle School. To link your Kroger Plus card, visit Kroger. Click "Edit Kroger Community Rewards" and enter Renner's number: 81943. NOTE: You must go online to link your Kroger Plus card to Renner Middle School and it must be done every year. Yes, every year! This can not be done in store. Tom Thumb: Tom Thumb's Good Neighbor program links your Reward Card to Renner Middle School. Stop by the Customer Service desk and pick up a registration form. Renner's number is 6266.

| For fifty years the National PTA has sponsored the PTA Reflections Program, a program encouraging students to explore and express themselves through the arts. This year's Reflections theme is LOOK WITHIN. Students may submit original creations in one or all of the following six categories: Dance Choreography, Music Composition, Film Production, Literature, Photography or Visual Arts. For entry rules and the entry form, visit the Renner PTA Reflections page HERE. Entries must be submitted to the Reflections Collection Box in the front office by Friday, November 8th. Please note there will be no late submissions accepted and remember, there must be a current Renner PTA member in the household for a student to participate in the Reflections program. Questions? We challenge YOU to be a part of your child’s school comm-YOU-nity and join today on the Renner PTA website under www.rennerpta.org. Membership costs only $25 for a 2-adult, or $20 for a single adult membership for the entire school year. - Each school has its own PTA, and joining one of your children’s schools does NOT mean you have joined them all. For example, joining at your elementary school does not automatically mean you have joined your middle or high school PTA,
- Being a member keeps you informed. It does NOT mean you are volunteering for anything unless you choose to do so.
- Joining means you will be included in the student directory (but you may opt out if you choose), and the directory is accessible under the MTK app easily downloaded for FREE on your smartphone.

Go online to signup to volunteer! Please consider being a copy room volunteer and making copies of materials needed for classes. The teachers greatly appreciate parent volunteers’ help. If you have time to spare to volunteer log-in to your account on the Renner PTA website , select My Account/Volunteer, then scroll down to select the dates/times you would like to volunteer. Thank you for your help! IMPORTANT: You must have a volunteer clearance from Plano ISD.

Online Volunteer Application link It is time to complete your background check for the 2019-2020 school year. All Plano ISD volunteers must renew their background checks every school year. You can complete your PISD volunteer application for the 2019-2020 school year beginning July 1st. The volunteer application process is online through the PISD website and takes just a few minutes to update. Please click the link below to complete your background check, and make sure to select Renner as your campus of choice.

 | | During the month of September, Renner Middle School is participating in a Peanut Butter Drive sponsored by the City of Plano and the North Texas Food Bank. Beginning September 2nd through the end of the month, please consider participating in Renner’s drive by donating! We will be collecting 16 oz (or larger) plastic jars of any brand of peanut butter. Other butters, such as almond, sunflower, and soynut butters are also accepted. There are over 44,000 food insecure children in Collin County alone, and hunger is often a hidden issue in our very own community. Peanut butter is high in protein, kid-friendly, and an item that is not often donated to NTFB. The collection bin will be in the entry rotunda of Renner, between the office and the cafeteria (near the box tops collection box). Thank you for joining together as a school and community to help raise awareness about childhood hunger! We look forward to seeing how many jars the Renner Mustangs will donate! Each donation is greatly appreciated. |
