A Note from our PTA President...

It is hard to believe that school starts in less than 2 weeks!  While the summer has flown by, the Renner PTA Board has been busy preparing for the upcoming school year by designing spirit wear, planning programs, setting up online ordering, and more.  A big THANK YOU to our volunteer PTA Board Members for their efforts over the summer.

I am excited to be a part of this great group of volunteers as we serve Renner students, staff and parents this upcoming school year.  We have some fun and educational activities planned.  

However, Renner PTA needs you too!  A strong school starts with as many parents as possible signing up for PTA Membership.  

Does a membership in the PTA require me to volunteer? 
NO - there is no volunteer requirement.  If you wish to be involved, we have plenty of opportunities, but it is not a requirement of
membership.

How much does a PTA membership cost?
It is $20 for a single parent family membership and $25 for a dual membership, which includes both parents.

What do I get for a PTA membership?
Several things. First, you will have access to our online directory through the membership toolkit app, which you can download right to your phone. Secondly, your dollars will go towards the various programs we provide for Renner, which directly or indirectly affect you and/or your child. At a higher level, your membership will be added to the others to provide a "voice" for every child in terms of supporting positive changes (laws, etc.) that will benefit every child.

How do I get a PTA Membership?
You can sign up at www.rennerpta.org. We would love for every family to be a PTA member at Renner!  PLEASE join us in having a voice for every child.

July 1st - Update PISD Volunteer Clearance 

July 1st- August 19th - Renner PTA online purchasing and registration open 

July 24th- August 2nd- PISD Online Registration and Emergency Card update  open 

August 6th - Renner Packet Pickup (schedule below)

August 8th - Mustang Meet & Greet for 6th Graders and Family 6:00-7:30 PM

August 12th - First Day of School - Doors open 7:50 AM; Classes start 8:30 AM

August 19th - Back to School Coffee/PTA General Meeting 9:15 AM  in the Renner Library

Go to www.RennerPTA.org from July 1st through Monday, Aug 19th to order the following:

  • School supplies
  • Spirit wear
  • PTA membership
  • PE Clothes
  • Yard signs/Car Decals (Athletics, Band/Choir/Orch,etc.)
  • Volunteer Interest Form

All of the items are TAX FREE when you take advantage of ordering online. Get all your shopping done in one easy sitting - Don't miss out!

NOTE: All yard signs and car decals for football, volleyball, basketball and track will be ordered through the coaches vendor once the teams are established

PISD ONLINE REGISTRATION

Please update all online registration and emergency forms for your student.  In order to print your student's schedule on August 2nd after Noon, these forms must be updated at myPISD Parent Portal.

Please sign up for the Renner eNews. We use eNews (with a link to a Smore Newsletter) to share our weekly news, to share information about upcoming events, or to communicate information about emergency or safety drills.  You can sign up on the parent portal at https://parentviewer.pisd.edu/Login.aspx.  Scroll down to the eNews section, click on Subscriptions, click on Middle School and make sure Renner is checked.  

We look forward to partnering with you on behalf of your children. This is going to be a great year for learning and growing at Renner Middle School.

Mark your calendar for Packet and Schedule Pickup on Tuesday, August 6th – one day only! 

  • 6th Grade - 8:00 AM – 10:00 AM
  • 7th and 8th Grade - 11:00 AM-1:00 PM

Pickup all of your supplies, schedule, PE uniform, and spirit wear.  You can also find your classes and see old friends!  

Please remember to bring your receipt with you to pick up your pre-purchased items. If you cannot be there, please give your receipt to a friend who can pick them up for you, otherwise you will not be able to get them until the 1st day of school.

Volunteers Needed

Beginning July 1st - go online to signup to volunteer!

Packet Pickup is 1 Day ONLY on August 6th and we need a lot of volunteers to make it run smoothly.  There will be two different shifts available and you can sign up directly on Membership Toolkit.  

The good news is if you sign up for the second shift, lunch will be provided!!!  If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact Amy Matz - VP of Volunteers. 

 

Renew your PISD Volunteer Clearance 

It is time to complete your background check for the 2019-2020 school year. All Plano ISD volunteers must renew their background checks every school year.

 You can complete your PISD volunteer application for the 2019-2020 school year beginning July 1st. The volunteer application process is online through the PISD website and takes just a few minutes to update. Please click the link below to complete your background check, and make sure to select Renner as your campus of choice.

     MUSTANG MEET & GREET


Thursday Aug 8th 6:00 PM-7:30 PM

All 6th grade students are invited to Renner for a fun night before school starts (parents and siblings are invited as well). You can meet 6th grade teachers, and walk class schedules.

Spirit Wear, school supplies, and PTA memberships will be available for purchase too!

Monday August 19th 9:15 AM

Please join us for our Welcome Back Coffee and first PTA General Meeting of the year.  Hear from our Principal, Jill Engelking as well as our PTA President, Stella Heidman and others. The meeting will take place on August 19th at 9:15 AM in the Renner Library. Hope to see you there!
